Advertise on KootenayBike

Thanks for your interest in KootenayBike. As a grassroots site dedicated to showcasing the best mountain biking in the Kootenay’s we are in the process of carving out a specific niche group of users. Not only does KootenayBike have local appeal amongst the various Kootenay riding scenes, it also has appeal to a large domestic and international market of dedicated mountain bikers looking to come to the Kootenay’s to experience the spectacular mountain bike trails.

As this is our first year of operation, we are in the process of creating a package that captures our daily, monthly and geographic user demographics. Once we have this information it will be available upon request to interested advertisers.

We see potential advertisers ranging from bike product manufacturers, life-style marketing campaigns, and local marketing efforts in the way of small businesses, accommodations providers and food and beverage. At this point we offer two opportunities for potential advertisers. The first is a standard IAB banner spec 300×250 pixel big box banner size. Any animation or video content is allowed along with standard non-interactive image based banners. The second banner spec is a IAB 3×1 (300×100 pixel) banner which is to be used to showcase the company logo under the “Support” heading on the right hand side of the pages. For both banner sizes we can provide tracking to help calculate a return on investment for the banner purchase. Editorial advertisements will be considered but will be dealt with on a request basis.

Pricing

Advertisers looking to be a part of the KootenayBike in our “beta” phase of development will receive preferred flat rates for the banners per month. The 300×250 big box is being offered at a price of $50 + GST per month (roughly $1.60 per day) and the 3:1 logo banners are being offered at a price of $30 + GST per month ($1 a day).

Product Endorsement

An alternative to, or in addition to our regular banner purchase program we will accept product to be endorsed by KootenayBike on the site. Any such product given to KootenayBike to be reviewed will be treated with proper editorial objectivity. We do appreciate the support as we are all dedicated riders and love new gear, so in most cases these products will be featured in editorial content created on the site and by default you would receive a 3 month free placement in both the big box and 3:1 banner areas.
